Ten trainees under the UnikLearn programme learnt how to prepare authentic green curry, a popular Thai dish around the world, through a cooking demonstration organised by the Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam with An-Nur Harapan in conjunction with Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand, The Queen Mother’s 93rd birthday anniversary.
Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman attended the event. An-Nur Harapan Chairman Suzanne Rahaman Aeby and An-Nur Harapan General Manager Melline binti Haji Jaini were also present.
Held at the An-Nur Harapan Centre, chef Thikamporn Sawangarom from the embassy taught the trainees on the preparation of the dish. Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam Boosara Kanchanalai shared, “This is a very auspicious occasion as we are celebrating Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand, The Queen Mother’s 93rd birthday anniversary on August 12.
“This will be my last activity in Brunei Darussalam before my departure next month. The Royal Thai Embassy will continue to cooperate with the UnikLearn programme.”
She also handed over a contribution from BNH Hospital Thailand to An-Nur Harapan while Alex Lim of Hong Guan also presented a contribution to An-Nur Harapan.
The UnikLearn programme, funded by An-Nur Harapan, is a life skills and vocational training programme for young adults with neurodevelopmental disorders. – James Kon
