Future looks bright for seven differently abled youth

SEVEN differently abled youth received scholarships for the UnikLearn 2019 Training and Internship programme during a signing ceremony at the Design & Technology Building, Anggerek Desa yesterday.

The scholarship is fully funded by An-Nur Harapan.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of An-Nur Harapan Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman bin Pengiran Haji Damit was present at the signing ceremony. He handed over the scholarship to the recipients after the signing ceremony.

The recipients are Ahmad Ruzaini bin Haji Abdul Razak, Mark Clemson Ang, Mohd Wafiq Syahmi bin Haji Anuar, Mohd Izzan Nasiruddin bin Nordin, Awangku Halim bin Pengiran Marzuki, Muhammad Syahrul bin Asmat and Muhd Zulfadli @ Aisdunnafi’ bin Haji Matali.

The seven, selected on several criteria, are attending the 11-month programme that began on March 1. The programme will continue until January 2020.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors thanked individuals and organisations for helping realise the UnikLearn programme for a second year.

He also thanked the scholarship recipients’ parents and guardians for their support.

UnikLearn 2018 received donations from individuals and organisations. An-Nur Harapan has embarked on training the differently abled individuals for the 2019 session under UnikLearn.

They will receive training in soft or employability skills, functional living skills and service occupation. They will also undergo internship and receive post-observation support with the overreaching mission to empower young adults with autism and other learning difficulties towards independence and be contributing members in the community.
